Graduate Study Abroad in South Africa
In January 2015, Master of Arts in Organizational Leadership faculty members Ariella Tilsen and Rebecca Hawthorne will lead a group of MAOL students and MAOL alumnae/i on a journey to Cape Town, South Africa, and surrounding areas.
The 16 participants will immerse themselves in a cross-cultural exploration of leadership, with a focus on the power of narrative in shaping leadership practices. There will be visits with South African leaders from a range of NGO, government, educational and corporate entities, as well as sightseeing to places such as Robben Island, where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned for 18 years.
On-campus classes will be held on Saturday and Wednesday nights the first two weeks of J-term; then it’s off to South Africa for the last two weeks. Estimated cost is $5,050 (includes tuition, airfare and lodging).
>> APPLY by October 1, 2014; email firstname.lastname@example.org for more details.
SHOW YOUR PRIDE
Don your Katie colors — whether a T-shirt or a visor — and visit St. Kate’s at the Minnesota State Fair. The 12-day event runs August 21 through Labor Day. Stop by our booth in the Education Building for an “I’m a Katie” fan and a chance to share your story as an alum.
St. Kate’s is partnering with Orbis Education and Genesis Healthcare to offer its occupational therapy assistant (OTA) degree to students from Virginia. The 16-month program includes online instruction with laboratory classrooms and clinical sites in Virginia.
